These terms apply when you buy "When You Can't Let Go" from me through Payhip. They are separate from my website Terms of Use, and separate again from the client agreement that covers counselling.

Who I am: Jamie Longson, trading as JPL Counselling, Trafalgar House, 5–7 High Lane, Chorlton, Manchester M21 9DJ. You can reach me at jplcounselling@protonmail.com or on 07340 131355.

What you are buying

A 42-page guided workbook, supplied as a digital download in two formats: a fillable PDF and a print-at-home version. It is a one-off purchase, not a subscription, and there is nothing further to pay.

What it is, and what it is not

Price, payment and delivery

The price shown on the listing is the price you pay, including UK VAT. VAT on digital products of this kind is collected and accounted for by Payhip, which handles it on my behalf.

Payment is taken through PayPal. I never see or hold your card or bank details — I can see your name, your email address, and the amount and date of the payment. The download is available immediately once payment has gone through, and a link is also emailed to you.

Your right to cancel

Because the workbook is digital content supplied immediately, the law treats it differently from a physical product.

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you would normally have 14 days to cancel. That right is lost once download begins, but only if you have expressly consented to immediate supply and acknowledged that you lose the right to cancel. You are asked to confirm both at checkout before payment is taken.

If you have not downloaded the workbook, you keep the full 14-day right to cancel and I will refund you in full. Email me and I will deal with it.

Refunds

Beyond the cancellation right above, I will refund you if the workbook is faulty, if the file will not open or is corrupted, or if it is materially different from how it is described on the listing. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and those rights are not affected by anything in these terms.

I cannot generally refund a workbook that has been downloaded and simply was not what you hoped for — but if you are unhappy, please tell me. I would rather hear about it, and I will consider each case on its merits.

To ask for a refund, email jplcounselling@protonmail.com with your order details. I aim to reply within three working days. Where you cancel, I will refund you within 14 days of being told, as the regulations require. Refunds are issued through PayPal and go back to the account you paid from, so how quickly the money reaches you is a matter for PayPal and your bank rather than something I control.

Copyright and how you may use it

The workbook is my own work and remains my copyright. You may print it, write in it, and use it as many times as you like for your own personal use.

Please don't share the file, upload it anywhere, resell it, or reproduce it in your own materials. If you are a practitioner and would like to use it with the people you work with, email me — I am happy to talk about it.

Your information

Payhip processes your order on my behalf: your name, email address and order details. I use your email address to deliver the workbook and to deal with any question or refund, and I will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask me to. I keep order records for six years, as HMRC requires for business records.

Buying the workbook does not make you a counselling client and creates no therapeutic relationship between us. My Privacy Notice sets out how I handle your information, under "If you buy my workbook".

If you are also a counselling client

I do not sell the workbook to my counselling clients. If we are working together and it would be useful, I will give it to you free of charge. You will never be asked to buy anything from me.

Liability

I have written the workbook carefully and stand behind it, but it is a self-help resource that you work through on your own. It cannot take account of your particular circumstances the way counselling would. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited under English law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please email me at jplcounselling@protonmail.com and I will do my best to put it right. If your complaint concerns my conduct as a counsellor rather than the sale, my complaints procedure is on my website.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your own courts.
